SignUpNow Workshops for Virginia Medicaid Application Assistance Training:

The workshops provide in-depth information on the New Health Coverage for Adults, FAMIS, FAMIS Plus, Medicaid for Pregnant Women, FAMIS MOMS, Plan First, and the Low Income Families and Children (LIFC) program. The topics presented include:

• Who qualifies for Medicaid/FAMIS and how to complete an application
• Virginia’s application systems and various methods of applying
• How Medicaid/FAMIS and Marketplace coverage interrelate
• Covered benefits and terms of coverage
• How to get the word out about Medicaid/FAMIS in your community

SignUpNow participants will be able to provide hands-on assistance to individuals and families who want to apply for Medicaid or FAMIS. All workshop participants receive a comprehensive Tool Kit with Medicaid/FAMIS program information, forms and resources to use in working with individuals and families.

Who Should Attend:

Administrators, staff and volunteers in community programs serving individuals and families who are interested in Virginia’s Medicaid/FAMIS programs, including the New Health Coverage for Adults available as of January 1, 2019, are all welcome to attend.

The information presented will be of value to organizations such as: hospitals, clinics, community health centers, medical practices, Head Start, home-visiting programs, social services, health departments, community services boards, family service organizations, churches, community action agencies, extension offices, youth programs, schools, child care providers, human resources staff of local employers, and outreach workers in any setting.
